Recreation Fee Technician

This position is located at George Washington Memorial Parkway in the Visitor Serverices Division.
The incumbent will perform a variety of duties associated with the collection, deposit, tracking and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under legal authorities such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act.
The major duties of the Recreation Fee Technician position include, but are not limited to the following:
Collect fees at park entrance station, museum, or in similar high volume fee entry station operation working for a public or private sector employer.
Collect cash and other payments in a high volume cost operation, such as a busy entrance station, movie theater, grocery store, or restaurant.
Calculate costs, making change, and/or processing credit card transactions for customer purchases/payments.
Accurately complete daily shift accounting reports for sales.
Safeguard funds, property, and merchandise in accordance with established policies and procedures.

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must meet the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors This experience must include all of the following:
(1) collecting fees at park entrance station, visitor center, campground or fee cannister (2) operating an electronic cash register, computer, tablet or smart phone; (3) safeguarding funds, property and merchandise in accordance with established policies and procedure; (4) prepare and complete remittance reports for funds donated and or collected by others.
You must include hours per week worked.
OR-EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least 4 years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

-OR-Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above.
You must include your resume with hours worked per week annotated, as well as transcripts.
You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience.
One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week.
Part-time hours are prorated.
You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.
Experience listed as full-time will be credited at 40 hours per week.
